... with a tiny car rental.
Ah, the joys of driving in Cyprus.
Our apartment is 8 minutes from the center, in a quiet area. Not much traffic, besides the occasional resident and the bi-weekly "car market" that blasts "tomates, pha-tha-tha, mandarines..." on a loop from a loudspeaker. It's actually kind of fun to hear. I should come down from the apartment and buy something next time.
In case you didn't know, Cyprus was a British colony, which means… we drive on the other side of the road.
The steering wheel is on the right, and all the controls are reversed. It took me a couple of days to stop hitting the windshield wiper control when I wanted to make a turn.
And to add to the fun, there are roundabouts EVERYWHERE. You enter them on the left, of course.
Driving my miniature rental is so much fun. LOL.
What's great, though, is that we are minutes from a salt lake on one side and a small mountain on the other. And fifteen minutes from the beach.
That means that we can take daily small walks in nice, quiet spots. Liam loves this, and so do I.
Tomorrow will marks our two-week mark in Cyprus. So far, Liam is doing well and handling the treatment like a champ. When he goes to the clinic, he gets plugged into a scary machine, but he's a lot tougher than I imagined. Besides being tired after each session, he's doing okay. We can't see much progress yet, but the doctor says it will come.
Right now, we have a three-day weekend to enjoy. So to kill time and rest, we started a new series. It's called The Blacklist. It's kind of addictive, but can get a bit harsh at times.
Next series will be the anime Frieren. The season 2 just came out. If you haven't watched it, I highly recommend it. Beautifully made, and the story is outstanding.
